Danske Capital employs an active investment style in its management of European small and mid cap equities with the objective of obtaining a better return than that of a defined benchmark for the European stock markets. The distribution of issues between the UK and continental Europe is determined on the basis of research into long-term global trends and macroeconomic conditions. The final allocation is made on the basis of market-specific conditions.

Active company selection is based on a fundamental understanding of the individual company's business areas.

Danske Capital is not constrained by one overall investment style and does not believe any one style will consistently produce the best performance. Different styles prosper at differing stages of the investment cycle. The investment process, however, does focus upon companies whose earnings growth is accelerating in relation to peer group or market. It is our belief that over any discrete long-term period, earnings growth is the key determinant for the movement in the stock price. Relative earnings growth is related to the valuation of the company in order to buy 'growth at the right price'.
