Our roots in servicing the investment needs of our clients date back to the 1928 with the foundation of the first mutual fund in Denmark.

Danske Capital was formed in 1996 by Danske Bank to centralise all its investment management activities and to address the generally increasing complexity of financial markets in a uniform manner.

Danske Capital is part of the Danske Bank Group. The history of the Danske Bank Group starts with "Den Danske Landmandsbank, Hypothek- og Vexelbank i Kjøbenhavn" (The Danish Farmers' Bank, Mortgage and Exchange Bank of Copenhagen) founded October 5, 1871.

What was once the "Landmandsbanken" is today Denmark’s largest financial group and one of the largest in the Nordic region. In its development from Farmers’ Bank to the Group it is today, the Bank has undergone several mergers, most recently with Handelsbanken and Provinsbanken in 1990, RealDanmark in 2000. Since 1997 the Danske Bank Group has acquired banks in Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
